Bedroom Beauty Challenge || Love

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

It's 12.50pm on Wednesday. I just spent 40 minutes trying to create my 'Love' look for this months challenge and gave up. I feel very numb today.

Click HERE if you have no idea what I'm bleating on about.

I found out last night that on Friday, my precious cat Mindy is being put down and I feel like I've had the joy sucked out of me. If you're a pet owner or cat lover, I'm sure you'll understand that a pet becomes a huge part of your life and you love them like you love your children.

I did start my look, I got all the way to eyeshadow and just thought, 'Why am I forcing myself to do this? I'm not a robot, I'm not a slave to my blog, I'm a human and I have feelings and a real life and I don't need to do this if my heart isn't in it'. So, I'm bowing out.

If you created something beautiful and took part, I'm so glad. I'm glad that even if I'm having a very low moment, there are Sprinklerinos around to spread their glitter on my behalf.

If you did take part this month, leave your blog url below or tweet/facebook/tumblr me your pictures so I can have a nosey and be very proud.

I actually have to go and dig Mindy a little grave now whilst it's sunny.  - Weirdest thing I've ever written on this blog!

I know this blog post doesn't offer you much, but today, life got in the way.

Toodlepip.

This blog post is not having the usual advertising sentence on it. Let's all just wish Mindy a good send off to kitty heaven.

Baby Glitter Haul

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Since you all loved my new Baby Style post, I went kerazy and made a full length video featuring all the lovely pieces I have bought Baby Glitter for the Spring/Summer season.

If you are on the ball in YouTube world then you may well have seen it, but if not, here it is for your viewing pleasure- oh la la.

Hopefully I can get a few nice shots of her wearing some of the clothes and if I do, I'll be sure to blog about them!

If you're struggling to watch the embedded version, please click HERE to be taken through to YouTube.

Did you see anything in there that you liked?

How To :: Colour Glass Jars

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Remember back in the olden days when I was Mrs Loved To Craft? Well, the other day she was back! back with a painty-inspired-by-pinterest venom!

How To Colour Glass Jars

Now, before all you DIY goddesses throw down your PVA in anger, yes, I know there is more than one way to colour glass jars and I think all of them are lovely. This way however, is with acrylic paint and is beyond simple. I like simple.

How to colour glass jars

Gather your clean, dry glass jars.

Generously pour acrylic paint (I bought mine from Hobbycraft) into the bottom and if you can, round the edges INSIDE.

Roll/twist the jar about to encourage paint to coat the inside completely.

How to colour glass jars

On newspaper or a surface you're happy to ruin, leave the jars upside down to finish the inner coating and let the excess paint drain out.

How to colour glass jars

Leave to dry and add contents.

Voila!

Do you think this is something you'll try? Think of the possibilities!!

Motivational Monday #4

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

In life, it seems normal to spend vast amounts of time mapping out our lives and deciding on the paths we must take. I am a regular mapper myself. Do your exams, graduate, find a nice man, buy a house, get married, have a baby, check, check, check and check. Then what?

Motivational Monday | Sprinkle of Glitter blog

Sometimes we make plans for ourselves and they work like clockwork. Sometimes they fall to absolute pieces and we are beside ourselves with grief, sadness, frustration or loss. In times like this, the world can feel like it's caving in on itself and you have no options, or that the options you do have are pretty diar.

As someone who has been in situations where you feel there is no way out or where you feel you have lost your way and can't see the wood for the trees, I know how frightening and distressing that can feel. From experience, I also know that is is not necessary to feel this way. There are always other options, there are always other paths.

'Other path' absolutely does not mean 'wrong path'. It's all too easy to feel that if you change your path you are failing or making a mistake, but in actual fact you are just changing your direction but carrying on your journey, with all it's winds and twists, and that's alright.

It's OK to worry and over think which direction you should take in your life, as long as you do keep walking down your path. The only mistake would be stopping.

I hope this strikes a positive note with anyone who is feeling a bit lost or are searching for their 'Plan B'. If not, below are the rest of February's Motivational Monday's to put a bit of pep in your step.

Baby Style || Spy Mac and Studs

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Last week Matt and I had a mooch round Milton Keynes to fill a few hours and I picked up a couple of bits of Baby Glitter that I simply couldn't not share.

I buy her so many nice things (naughty Mummy), that I have decided to try and do a few of these Baby Style posts over the next few months. The real challenge is getting her to stand still for a moment!!

Baby Style

Rustic Flower Clips :: Accessorize Angels
Purchased years ago

Beige Mackintosh :: Zara Baby
£22.99

Indigo Jeggings :: Primark
£4

Studded Tan Plimsoll :: Zara Baby
£17.99

What I love most about this outfit is the tiny bows on the sleeves of the coat. I have a jacket very similar and think the little bows give the item a more babylike feel to it, which is nice. I bought it a wee bit big because Baby Glitter grows like a sunflower and I'd like her to enjoy it for as long as possible. The lining inside is light blue quilting.

The jeggings are also great. I have bought the same pair (but smaller) in the past and Darcy finds them comfortable and easy to play in. Now that she is so active, I really want her to not be in the least bit restricted by her clothes. Tots need to be free!

If this is a feature you'd like to see on a more regular basis, I'll be sure to take close up photographs of the garments too so you can get a real feel for them.

Where is your favourite place to buy little people clothes? Do you half wish you could fit in an 18-24 months just so you could wear that coat? I think I do!

Amazing Advertisers || February 2013

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

Oohhh this month the Amazing Advertisers went on a big journey together. From the left to the right hand side of my blog. I hope they enjoyed their adventure haha!

As always, there is a whole host of great blogs to find in the sidebar, so let's look a little closer.

(Image :: weheartit.com)

Alycia and Trevor have the most romantic of stories. After being proposing, Trevor told his soon to be bride that their life would be full of fun. And it is! This is a blog to document all of those joyful memories, their journey together, lifestyle articles and sweet catch ups. Some of Alycia's photos make me drool and frankly, she makes me want to stick clouds to straws. Check out her blog to find out why!

Ji Ji Kiki is my Ultimate Advertiser this month so you may well have looked at this site already. It is a treasure trove of bits and pieces and I think my favourite page is the Kitch Jewellery section. I'm not quite sure I can resist the iced gem rings any longer. Also, they're on sale so if that doesn't convince me, I don't know what will.

A beauty and lifestyle blog written by a full time Civil Engineering Technologist in Canada. That was a mouthful! This blog has a clear, uncluttered layout and easy to read posts. I have enjoyed the 25 Random Facts post as I think it's so nice to get to know the heartbeat behind a blog. I think this blogger has been feeling a little down of late so I hope things pick up for her soon. Let's go and show her some love.

Strawberry Sisters is a blog of everything! Fashion, food, fun and games are all on board in a wonderfully whimsical setting, perfect for your inner girlieness. With plenty of photos and regular updates, you won't be short of something to read. I particularly enjoyed the strawberry scrunchie post and feel inspired to make some for Darcy.

The story behind this beauty review blog is fabulous. It's writer is in her late 30's yet still new to makeup. She writes about her thoughts on products and how they suit her (very slightly!) more mature skin. If you're interested in high end products, you may well enjoy this blog.

Stacie is not new to this blog so I'm sure you will have read about her amazing story before (if not, go and do it, it's inspiring). This month Stacie has been sharing her story on Daybreak (the morning TV show) and is celebrating a blog milestone with a lovely giveaway. Definitely one to bookmark!

We've been through this before haven't we? Sofia's blog is on my daily check 'n' read list and if it's not on yours, we can't be friends. I adore this blog. I love the layout, the photography, the writing, the personality, everything. Stop avoiding it and have a look, you won't regret it I promise.

This is a site unlike any other amazing advertiser this month. I'm not going to talk too much because I want you to go and experience it. Clue - You'll use your ears more than your eyes. I LOVE it when there are interesting things like this in my sidebar. I think you will too.

Right, scrap the usual blurb. Lynne has titled her most recent post 'You Go Glen Coco'. She is clearly brilliant and you should do yourself a favour and go and check it out. Aside from her obvious geniosity (real word there), her blog is crazy pretty and her posts are tres engaging. Stop reading this and click through to her. Also, go back and read her post from the 13th, I did a real life 'lol'!

First of all, ooooohhhh puuurrddddyyyy. Second of all, did I mention how pretty this blog is? Although Sarah has only blogged 3 times so far this month, all of her posts have been really lovely. There is a fab haul as well as a gorgeous collage and some great motivation for us all. Give it a little looksie.

Mia's blog is a baby. Only starting this month, it is sweet, girly and focused on beauty. With clear pictures, swatches and great writing, I think this blog is off to a fantastic start. Hop on over and show her some of our sparkly support.

Annabel makes me want to do things. Minds out of gutters please. She makes me want to take better photographs, change my fonts and go shopping, that's how persuasively good her 'little bit of everything' blog is. Now that you've made it to the end of this post, go and have a look and feel inspired too.

Well, that's it. Another set of fantastic ladies, all set to have you reading for hours.

Have you discovered anyone new? Check back later for my second blog post of the day....an extra exciting one!!

You Asked || Facebook Edition

Aloha Sprinklerinos,

A while back, I did a post called 25 Facts About Me and really, really enjoyed it. I thought it was such a fun way to share a bit more with you all so decided to find out if there was anything else you wanted to know.

You Asked :: Facebook Edition

Kelly Asked .  What is your favourite clothes shop?
I have a few but at the moment I am loving Primark, H&M, River Island and although I'd never have thought to look, have picked up some lovely bits in Marks and Spencers recently.

Georgia Asked .  If you could move to any country where would you go and why?
I'd love to live in America, either in California, Boston or the deep south (a la Gone With The Wind). I've visited America quite a few times and have loved it. I love that can do attitude, the big places, the food (I'd be so much fatter!!), everything. I'm also a quarter American and have a lot of family out there so I wouldn't be alone.

Kira Asked . Do you plan on having another kiddywink?
Not in the near future. I've seen a couple of rumours floating about that I'm pregnant or have announced a pregnancy- I can tell you there is no bun in this oven.
Harriet Asked . Did you enjoy your degree? (psychology I think?! I've applied for Psychology!)
Yes and no. I didn't enjoy the hours of listening in lectures or reading things that didn't grip me but I know that the degree I did, Pyschology and Biology, was the most gripping to me out of all of them and there were aspects and topics that really fascinated me. It's natural not to like everything. I enjoyed the mindset I developed and I'm proud I am a university graduate.
Emily Asked .  How do you stay organised? Tips?
The truth is, I don't! I struggle so much with keeping on top of things and constantly try (and fail) to improve. I think I'm just innately messy. What I do do though is keep lists. I make a list every day of what I want or need to achieve and this helps me stay focused.
Becky Asked .  Favourite month of the year?
September. I love the weather, the promise of Christmas, the fact I was married in that month, the excitement of a new academic year (I think that stays with you no matter what age), the fashion and even the way the word 'September' sounds when you say it.

Libby .  What will you call baby glitter web she is no longer a baby? Toddler glitter?
Well Baby Glitter will always be my baby regardless of her age, so I think she may have to stay Baby Glitter forever. :)

Macy Asked .  Why did you decide to have Darcy?
Matt and I had always wanted a baby as soon as we were married. We are both very family orientated so it seemed like right thing to us. I think we were right. We love having our little family to cherish.
Sophie Asked . What did you want to be when you were really little, because apparently I'm not allowed to be a princess?
The first thing I can remember wanting to be was a ballerina. I took lessons and actually got to grade three so I was some way there, haha.

Chloe Asked .  What's your favourite type of blog post/video to do?
I don't have one favourite because what I love most is the variety. I think if I had to just stick to beauty or lifestyle or silly or baby then I'd not keep going.

Zoe Asked .  If you had another girl, what would you call her, besides Florence which was Darcy's other 'option'?!
Well remembered! If we ever did have another Daughter we do already have her name but we'd wait to reveal it. It's not Florence.

Sophie Asked . How is it not awkward to talk to a camera & do you not worry about being judged about doing YouTube videos?
It's not awkward for me because I've been doing it for three years. I actually find it really therapeutic to just sit and chat away with nobody to answer back. I try not to worry too much about being judged. It's pretty much inevitable that people will form an opinion on you and it's up to them whether it's good or bad. I think if you know in your heart that you are being a good person and doing your best then other people's opinions don't effect you as much as they could. I'm a pretty happy camper!
Emily Asked .  How much do you love Liverpool?
To the moon and back again! Liverpool will always be my most special city as it's where SO MUCH good happened in my life. I could write a whole blog post on how being in such an amazing city changed everything for me but now is not the time. Pretty much everything good in my entire life came either from Liverpool or from the attitude I developed there. Big loves.
Harriet Asked .  If you had to only eat something for a whole month what would it be?
Strawberries.
Amber Asked .  Do/did you have an ultimate goal from blogger? Such as, would you like to write a book for new mum's, become a make up artist, professional beauty journalist?
That is such a good question! If those things came along then I'd welcome them and be excited for them but they are not my ultimate goals. My goal is to keep this blog exactly as it is. A documentation of my thoughts, feelings, discoveries and observations within an amazing sparkly community of brilliant people. I like what we have. In years to come, I want it to be just like this but maybe with a swisher camera lens or better spelling!

There were quite a few questions left unanswered but I wasn't sure if I might bore you by going on and on!! I thought it might be fun to do a Twitter and Tumblr edition of this too but I'll let you decide in the comments since you are the readers of this online part-ay. Yes, I just said 'part-ay'. Next thing you know I'll say 'YOLO' in a serious tone.

Was any of that new to you? Do you prefer chitchatty posts or beauty reviews? I'm all ears!

Toodlepip!
